Emet in Torah

About Emet in Torah Nazarene Assembly

Our History

EMET was officially established in 2017 as West Virginia’s first Two House Restoration Ministry. The foundation of EMET rests entirely on scripture, cover to cover just as It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16. G-d has been using us to be a bridge between the Christian world and the Jewish world. It is our desire to see Jewish people recognize Yeshua (Jesus) as the Jewish Messiah and for Christians to recognize the Jewish foundation of their faith.

Statement of Faith

We are Torah Honoring, (Rom 2:12-13 ,7:12 Js 1:22 Ps 119) Shabbat keeping ( Ex 20:8 Ezk 20:12) believers in Yeshua HaMashiach (Rev 14:12 Jon 3:36 Dt 18:15) who study and teach the Keetvay Hakadosh (Holy Scriptures) from its original Ancient Near Eastern, Hebraic and 1st Century context (Dt 4:8 Ps 147:19). We believe that  יהוה (YHWH ) is the Echad (One) True Elohim conveyed in (Devarim {Deuteronomy} 6:4) and (Shemot {Exodus} 34:6-8).

•Yeshua HaMashiach (Messiah) is the Melchizedek Kohen Ha Gadol (High Priest), (Heb 5:1-6 Ps 110:4)the Word of יהוה (YHWH) manifested in the flesh(John 1:14) and is the fullness of Elohim in bodily form (Colossians 2:9).

•Salvation is by grace through faith, and that only by the shedding of Messiah’s blood is there remission of sins.

•Yeshua was born of a virgin by the Holy Spirit (Ruach Hakodesh).

We also Believe…

The interpretation and translation of any document must reflect the history, culture, language, and geography in which the document was written.  The Bible is no exception.  Emet In Torah uses each of these categories to attempt to understand the sacred text more accurately.

That all Scripture (including the New Testament) is G-d-breathed and G-d-given. Though we may analyze the words of the Gospels from a Semitic-language frame of reference, we acknowledge the authority of the manuscripts as we possess them.

That Israel has always been the focus of G-d’s redemptive work, and that those chosen from the nations who come to faith in the Messiah join Israel as G-d’s covenant people, sharing in the same covenant privileges and responsibilities.

The Scriptures (both Tanach and Apostolic Scriptures) are clear in stating that the people of G-d are one people, and that the Torah (the teaching of YHWH) is applicable to all who are in Yeshua, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, or station in life. This position has become known as “One Torah,” which Emet In Torah affirms without reservation.

EMET understands that we are not called to force change onto people. Our job is simply to study, share what we learn, and then to step back and allow G-d to work in hearts and lives. When people start down the path of trying to change others, things go bad quickly. We can only be responsible for our own walk and if we are honest with ourselves, we realize that’s more than enough to deal with!

All of that said, we hope to continue to bring unity. We love the Torah movement, and deeply desire to see it grow and mature. Part of that process involves moving past the divisive foolishness that has hampered our development over the last decade. May The Father give us wisdom and patience, and may He enable us to see one another with the love of Messiah. May we learn and strive continually for unity, understanding, humility, and grace.
